As a preferred partner for The 27th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP27) in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, our clients at Boston Consulting Group (BCG) sought to leverage this exclusive opportunity to share the critical discussions being had by the world’s leaders regarding climate change. To achieve this, we were entrusted with the task of creating daily summaries of the event and its topics to be shared across social media platforms throughout the 13-day conference.

Under my leadership, our team embarked on a timeline-intensive project that encompassed various stages, from pre-event announcements to daily recaps and post-event summaries. The challenge we faced was working collaboratively with different internal BCG teams, each contributing different project details or approvals, across five different time zones while ensuring the final assets were ready before the start of the summit the following day.

To overcome this challenge and maintain seamless coordination, we devised a comprehensive plan outlined in a detailed living document. This plan facilitated smooth communication and collaboration, enabling each client team member to contribute efficiently to the daily recaps. Whether it was delivering assets from the event, writing copy, or submitting edits and approvals for distribution, the document served as a central reference point.

The project culminated in successfully delivering engaging and informative daily video summaries across social platforms, capturing the essence of COP27 and its crucial discussions on climate change. These summaries served as an essential resource for our clients to disseminate vital information and engage their customers and followers during the conference.
